New Zealand's top male Twenty20 players are set to help launch their Burger King Super Smash teams' campaigns and make an impression on international selectors.
BLACKCAPS players come into the competition from a hard-fought white ball series against Pakistan in the UAE, while NZA players are fresh from facing a stacked India A side in three List A matches.
NZC GM High Performance Bryan Stronach said "We know the fast and athletic brand of cricket we want to play, and are looking for players to deliver it consistently. Every game is crucial with ODI and T20 World Cups coming up fast, all performances are looked at very closely."
The BLACKCAPS white ball squad will be named shortly after Christmas, so the Knights v Firebirds, Volts v Kings and Aces v Stags clashes between 22 and 24 December will be a crucial window to catch the selectors' eye.
"The best international teams are underpinned by strong domestic cricket competitions, so we're very proud of the BK Super Smash in that regard, it's right up there," said Bryan Stronach.
The Major Associations will have the following players to select for the BK Super Smash in the pre-Christmas window, as fitness and selection allow:
Auckland Aces: Colin Munro, Martin Guptill, Mark Chapman, Lockie Ferguson, Glenn Phillips and Mitchell McClenaghan
Knights: Mitch Santner, Ish Sodhi, Tim Seifert and Corey Anderson
Central Stags: Tom Bruce, George Worker, Ben Wheeler, Doug Bracewell and Seth Rance
Wellington Firebirds: Tom Blundell, Jimmy Neesham and Hamish Bennett
Canterbury Kings: Matt Henry
Otago Volts: Hamish Rutherford
Final lines ups will be confirmed by BK Super Smash teams the day before each match.
