The Blaze has not been beaten since 2021. Now, the Wellington wonders have their own New Zealand Domestic record for most consecutive T20 victories in their sites.
Yesterday, the Canterbury Magicians pushed them hard at Hagley Oval, but the star-studded Blaze still came up trumps with an exciting 11-run away victory - taking their current Dream11 Super Smash Streak to an incredible 14 games.
The Otago Volts won 14 games on the trot during their golden span from 14 December, 2012 until 25 September, 2013, (that's the New Zealand men's record), but amazingly the Blaze have now performed such a streak twice.
The Magicians were the last side to beat the Blaze - way back in the unforgettable 2021 Dream11 Super Smash Grand Final, winning on the final ball in an absolute thriller.
But Wellington Blaze also won their last three games of 2018/19, went through the 2019/20 season unbeaten in 11 games, and then won their first two games of the following season before finally losing a T20 to Northern Brave.
That was a phenomenal 16-match streak - the national record - that came to an end in another final-ball thriller.
Internationally, few teams have reached such giddy heights as Melie Kerr's Wellington Blaze - the most successful team in the history of the national T20 league.
Mithali Raj's Indian Railways women is the crazy good exception, holding a T20 world record with an amazing unbeaten run of 34 games between 2011 and 2015 (including washouts).
The men's world record for consecutive wins is the amazing 25-game streak by Pakistan's Sialkot Stallions who won every T20 they played from 24 February 2006 to 14 October 2010.
Next on the men's list is Karnataka with 15 consecutive T20 wins from January 2018 to November 2019, and Wellington Blaze will match that once more should they win when they play Northern Brave this Wednesday at their home ground, the Cello Basin Reserve.
In women's T20 cricket internationally, three teams - England, UAE and Australia, have all gone 20 T20is in a row without a defeat (including washouts), with Australia capable to taking that world mark to 21 the next time they play.
Thailand's international women's team holds the female T20 International record for most actual wins in a row with 17.
Meanwhile the Canterbury Magicians went 17 games without losing (including one washout) from February 2011 to January 2013. That streak was ended by, who else, Wellington Blaze when they lifted the 2012/13 trophy in the Final that season.
Could more records be in Blaze's sights if they continue their hot Dream11 Super Smash run of form this week?
